  1. I haven’t purchased your book operation bullpen, but I have added it to my christmas wish list. I have followed many of the articles with great interest. I was wondering if you could help me with something that has been nagging at me. I was wondering when the autograph forgery “game” kicked into high gear? The reason why I ask is that my mom bought me a Joe DiMaggio autograph baseball from a baseball card shop in Littleton, NH back in the late 1980’s. I have not brought it to an authenticator like PSA or Jim Spence for fear that they would reject it. Plus, I have my doubts about these authenticators from things I have seen from them and heard about them. I know the two I mentioned are considered some of the best, and your opinion on them would be appreciated. I guess to get to the point of my question – I want to know if you have knowledge of Dimaggio forgeries happening in the 1980’s, and do you think I should have it authenticated and if so, who do you think I should bring it to to have the work done? Thank you for your time.
